Juicy?

Normally I'm not one to enjoy juicy couture.... see, velour jumpsuits are just not my thing. But sometimes they have something  that catches my eye. These earrings being one of those things. I really like metal and jewels together. Such a luxe look. Not a bad deal either.

Here are a few picture we took while celebrating my Fiances birthday a few weeks back.  Great hike in Pt. Lobos. Probably about 70 degrees at 4 pm. Perfect. With the fact that it pretty much snowed here this weekend... I needed a dose of fun in the sun.

Dear BHLDN,

I was really looking forward to your line coming out. Even when I wasn't getting married, I was still excited for you to happen. Well, even though I think some of the gowns are great. The dresses are even better... But where do you get off charging $300 for these earrings? Any crafty girl could probably make these. In fact they should. Maybe I even will. I should just to prove that  this is ridiculous! I've been known to buy things not worth the cost, but seriously now. Are consumers just that dumb? Why does something with the word wedding attached warrant such a price increase? Anyone down to try and make these and follow up? Let me know if you do! It's seriously only bent wire, soldered together. Hmmmmmm.

Burning love?

Nope, just flesh. Ha! Yes, after completing an insane amount of macaroons yesterday evening ( wel,l the cooking part, i had yet to ice!)... seconds before sitting down to each my delicious dinner my FH had cooked for me.... I freakin burnt the crap out of my hand! Nice sized blister in the center of my palm! Ugh, only I would grab a hot pan that I had just taken out of the oven. Why not use the hot pad the second time around, silly? SO glad it was my left hand, and not my right. Oh well, maybe I can frost my cookies and salvage what's left of last night. Happy Valentines Day everyone!

Lost ( no, not the show)

Does anyone else feel really lost and super weird when they forget the ever important cell phone at home? It's not like I HAVE to have my phone on me at all times because I'm super popular or something. I just feel... lost. Separation anxiety of sorts. Silly, I know.

Busy weekend ahead, but in the best of ways. This must be what growing up feels like? Or maybe I've just had a huge change of mindset after getting engaged? I have this strong actual, whole hearted desire to be domestic. Ugh, my mom would drop dead if she read this. But really, since when do I WANT to actually organize my whole house. Since when do I WANT to vacuum out every crack and corner to my house? Since when do I have the WANT to make bagels and macaroons? Really, though?

Maybe I'll find the time to finally getting up some pictures from last weekends hiking adventure. ( Hello, 70 degree weather in February. @ 5pm nonetheless!) Don't hold your breath. I'm not making any promises!

FETIVUS FOR THE REST OF US!

I'm not too sure, but is that how you would spell Festivus? No, its not a word.... this I know. However, if you area Seinfeld freak like my fiance and I are... this make total sense.

Moving on. Valentines Day. This is the point! Most people either love or hate this holiday. Very few are neutral. I on the other hand, feel like its just another day.  I wont be sad that we work all day Monday and I'm not passing out cute little cards with horrible chalky candies no one really wants anyway. With this being said, Sunday we are going to just pretty much treat each other all day with yummy food and love. The guy is making steaks and something else for dinner. I think I'll make bagels for breakfast!  I made a onion tart last weekend and it was delicious! I really want to make something yummy for after dinner and I think I may have found it!

Saw this on Marry you me today and I was sold. I've never made anything like this before. I guess we all have to start some where. Go here for the recipe and all that good stuff if you want to do that same and treat someone you love to this very festive treat.

Birthdays

Quick post. Nothing new really to update with. The weather is warming up again just in time for the weeks end here in California. Great timing too. I'm currently finishing up all the loose ends of my planning for my fiances birthday tomorrow. His actual birthday isn't till Tuesday, but since we work the whole day I decided to plan something over the weekend. Not going to say what were doing exactly. Since he reads the blog,  it wouldn't be the smartest move for me to make! If all goes according to plan it should be nice and relaxing for him. Just what the doctor ordered I think..... Superbowl on Sunday of course. Carne asada, beers, chips, the whole nine yards. Excited!


Also, I added a silly little banner at the bottom of the page. Oh, you know... just a little count down of sorts. God, 582 seems really far off.

Spring Fever

Totally fell in love with this dress from modcloth.com. I've been browsing there dress section non stop looking for bridesmaid dress ideas. I really can't decide on the look I want. I'm still leaning towards letting the girl pick out there own dress in similar tonal colors like pale versions of pink, peach, ivory, eggshell... you get the idea. This dress however really caught my eye. Maybe I will just have to buy it for myself!
